Supporting local initiatives that align with our way of thinking
At Ceox we look to support local initiatives that align with our way of thinking. We believe in giving people opportunities and investing in their development. And we believe in finishing things well when something comes to an end.
Phoenix Cultural Centre is a Community Interest Company with a venue based locally to us in Woking, the Fiery Bird, a community arts and live music venue. The Fiery Bird has offered a great deal to the community, in particular a space for everyone to create and perform, a training ground for young people and an inclusive venue for anyone who needed a place to belong. The Fiery Bird has been a launchpad for those without access, networks or privilege — offering opportunity and support.
Unfortunately, the venue is faced with closure owing to numerous challenges, including break-ins, rising costs and ongoing building issues. Recognising that it’s important to ensure the many groups and individuals that Fiery Bird support need time to transition to new arrangements, Phoenix Cultural Centre launched a crowdfunder to help them continue to operate long enough to ensure this can happen.
Ceox are pleased to support Phoenix Cultural Centre with a donation to their crowdfunder and our very best wishes for successful transition activities over the coming months. If you would like to find out more, please visit https://www.phoenixculturalcentre.org.uk
